1. Unexpected Guests
While a fixed number of rooms are booked for the guests, many confirm their attendance last minute and accommodation then needs to be organised obviously affecting the budget.
also, it means more per-plate meal costs.
Expert Tip: RSVP is important so that you know how many guests are actually attending your wedding. plus keep 2 - 3 extra rooms booked just in case any extra guests show up.
2. Room Service
This is slightly tricky. If you are hosting your guests’ stay in a hotel, room service bills can wreak complete chaos on your budget.
Expert Tip: keep a basket of goodies in each room with a polite note saying it’s a gift from you, but room service and mini-bar costs will have to be borne by guests.
3. Previous Night’s Stay
If you are planning a destination wedding, you and your family would want to stay at the venue a night prior, for which you will have to book rooms for an extra night before the wedding. This is a good move as it will ensure you are not running around in a frazzle on D-day.
Expert Tip: Keep a contingency fund to fall back on in case the need arises.
4. Corkage Charge
Most venues allow you to get your own alcohol but charge you a corkage fee per bottle. This could be anywhere between Rs 50 a bottle to Rs 2000 a bottle depending on how chic the venue is.
Expert Tip: Add this overhead to the cost of the actual liquor.
5. GST & Service Charges
Even though these aren’t exactly hidden and we all know there are taxes on almost everything, most couples don’t think about how much they’ll end up spending just for taxes.
Expert Tip: Check the contracts carefully to ensure that GST is included in the price quotation, otherwise you may be in for a surprise when you receive your final bills.
6. Gratuity
If the vendors have gone beyond your expectations, a nice tip would be a much-appreciated gesture. Especially vendors like waiters, Safawala, Dhol & Ghodiwalas, etc.
Expert Tip: Plan how much you would like to tip each vendor so you have an estimated cost to work with
7. Venue Royalty
Some venues require you to use caterers or decorators from their impaneled vendors and charge Royalty fees if you don’t.
Expert Tip: Always ask the venue if you can bring your own vendors before booking the place.
8. Hair & Make-up

Expert Tip: Keep that accounted in your hair & make-up Budget

Expert Tip: Factor this into your overall budget
10. Licenses & Permissions
